AGEINGLAB HELPS YOU PREVENT COGNITIVE DECLINE

  • by

In collaboration with the Cognitive Decline Center of the Madrid City Council, we have developed online exercises for memory training and cognitive stimulation. Our laboratory is focused on research related to aging, and we are currently participating in and promoting several initiatives to mitigate the effects of the current crisis and help older adults.

One of these initiatives stems from the collaboration we have been carrying out for the past five years with the Cognitive Decline Prevention Center of the Madrid City Council, following our research line on cognitive decline. In the center’s facilities, the cognitive decline exercises developed by Ageinglab are already being used. Given the current situation caused by COVID-19, which affects the physical, mental, and emotional health of older adults, it has become necessary to make these exercises available to everyone in need.

Therefore, we provide the content developed in conjunction with the Madrid City Council through a website where various exercises aimed at preventing cognitive decline can be viewed and tried. The website is www.mejoralamemoria.es and is adapted for computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Our next challenge is to expand the variety of exercises offered and continue improving the user experience. If you want to collaborate with us, are an older adult who wants to participate in our projects, are studying and want to train in this field, or are a health professional who wants to work with us, write to us at ageinglab@ctb.upm.es. You can also see all our initiatives at this link on our website: ageinglab.ctb.upm.es/category/covid19.

Ageinglab, in collaboration with Neurocentro CM, organized an online event focused on Active Aging. This event offers the general public a space to discuss and learn about the effects of active aging and featured the participation of clinical, social, and technological professionals whose work focuses on the study of aging.

The event took place on November 19 and was organized with the support of the Biomedical Technology Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. The complete program is available for free in the event description.
